Multi-award winning producer, broadcaster, journalist and Nigerian equivalent of American's Oprah, Funmi Iyanda attended the Polari First Book Prize Awards in London on Wednesday night with her dear friend, Bisi Alimi, Nigerian gay rights activist, public speaker, blog writer and HIV/LGBT advocate who achieved notoriety when he became the first Nigerian to come out of the closet on television. Back in 2004 Funmi's popular breakfast show 'New Dawn' on NTA Channel 10 got shut down when interviewed Bisi. If you missed the story CLICK HERE.
Funmi showed support for the LGBT (Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transsexual) by attending the Polari awards which showcases the best in established, new and up-and-coming LGBT literary talent. She's really taking a BOLD step ... God help her! See more pictures below.
